Chris A. Varin

US Practice leader for Marsh Captive Solutions

Mr. Varin’s current primary role is as Head of the Burlington, Vermont office of Marsh Captive Solutions. In addition, he oversees the Global Technology Operations Team of the Group and serves on the Group’s Global Leadership Team. His previous responsibilities include many years as Deputy Head of Burlington, Vermont office, and three years as Head of Office of the Group’s Technical Center in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, which primarily serviced captives in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands during his tenure. Mr. Varin’s duties include: client relationship management, business development, consulting on captive insurer structures and operations, a lead role in the Group’s Terrorism Risk Insurance Act solutions development efforts, and heavy involvement with the development and implementation of the group’s global ‘one practice’ operating platform, especially in the areas of internal controls, standardisation of technology and improving information acquisition, management and access.
