CURRENT RESPONSIBILITIES

As a team leader, Lawrence is responsible for managing the accounting and insurance services for a number of insurance companies and ensuring that a high standard of service is delivered at all times.  He has a team of finance managers and insurance managers reporting to him who manage the day-to-day operations of each company. Lawrence also provides consulting advice to clients looking for alternative risk solutions and is a member of the senior management team in Bermuda. He is Vice President of the Bermuda Insurance Managers Association. Lawrence joined the Bermuda operation in January 2003 and spent 4 years in the Business Development unit before taking on his current role as a team leader. He has worked for the Marsh group for 19 years and the insurance industry generally for 28 years. Lawrence was promoted to Managing Director in July 2010.

EXPERIENCE

Lawrence started in the insurance industry in 1983 and joined the Marsh group in 1992. He moved to Guernsey with Marsh in 1996 managing captives until his move to Bermuda. In Guernsey, Lawrence’s role was that of account executive and team leader overseeing the handling of a portfolio of captives, together with managing the personnel within his team. Lawrence moved to Bermuda in 2003 to join the Business Development team. He moved across to his current Team Leader role in 2008 and is responsible for a team managing approximately 90 captives.

EDUCATION

Lawrence is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and an Associate of the Institute of Risk Management.
