Louis Gagnon

Career

Louis Gagnon is President, US & Canada. In his role, he leads 5,400 colleagues who serve over 9,000 domestic and multinational clients across the Health, Wealth and Career spectrum. He is based in New York.

In his 30 years at Mercer, Louis has held numerous leadership roles across the business and has a successful track record of driving innovation, inspiring teams and building client relationships. Prior to becoming President, US & Canada, Louis served as CEO, Canada from 2015 - 2018, where he was known as a strong internal and external advocate of Mercer’s diversity and inclusion ideals, and dedicated to elevating local communities through a variety of philanthropic activities and contributions.

Louis joined the firm in 1988 as a retirement consultant in Canada. He transferred to Mercer's US business in 1996, where he held numerous local, national and global leadership, sales and innovation roles over the next 18 years. 

Louis graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
